nordCom, a former local ISP in Northern Germany, with a total of over 25,000 business and end customers needed a custom developed system to automate their complete Internet Services Portfolio. The Netservice Manager System (developed by farm. interactive gmbh with our expert being the sole system architect) provided an automated web interface controlled management system for the technical services in the complex technical environment.
Technical Outline:
Running on a server farm of more than 10 Solaris and Linux machines, connected to Cisco Hardware, the multi-component software system had a web interface for administrators and customers. The configurations were pushed on the redundant servers. In the last phase a SAP connector allowed automated setup based on SAP order entries. The software based mostly on well-renowned open source services (apache, radius, postgres, bind, sendmail, mysql, etc.) and provided robust services for 25,000+ customers. The system could also order and maintain domains automatically.
